Pearl (Sage) Clagett, 93 formerly of Rummerfield, died friday June 16, 1995 at the Dar-Way Nursing Home, Elkland Twp., Pa, where she had been a resident since 1980.
Born Oct 2, 1901 in Rummerfield, she was the daughter of Frank and Louise Schoonover Sage. Mrs. Clagett attended the Fisher School and on Nov 4 , 1922 she married Fred Clagett.
For many years, the couple operated a general store in Rummerfield. Mrs. Clagett also served as assistant postmaster in rummerfield, while her husband was postmaster. She was a member of the Standing Stone United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Wysox Rebekah Lodge No. 443 and the Lady Whitmore Club. She is survied by two daughters: Marjorie and Bert Williams of Towanda and Janice and Jack Corbett of RR5 Towanda; a sister, Jane Tiffany of Sayre; five grandchildren and their spouses: Bonnie and Gary Hettinger of State College, Pa., Rand and Nancy Williams and Debra and Jeffery Jones, all of RR% Towanda. Wendy and Paul Manchester of RR1 Towanda and Kim and Kathy Corbett of Towanda; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a grandson, Duane Corbett in 1974; a sister, Christine Sage; and two brothers, Claude and Carl Sage. Graveside services will be held June 19 at 1pm at the Standing Stone Cem.
