Trying to link US Ahlfs back to their home village in Germany
has been a goal for many years. This is been limited by the memories and records
passed on to current generations. Many time all that is remembered is Hanover or
Hamburg.
I have managed to collect some immigration records from the
LDS data base in the past but it has been time consuming with many dead ends.
Recently, some of the Ellis Island records have been made available at http://www.ellisislandrecords.org/
. This data base has considerable information. I have extracted much of
