[5724] Samuel, Jr. was a carpenter and lived in Coventry, Rhode Island, wheredied in 1745. Highlights of his life were: in 1684 made a Freeman; in1688 he was a juryman; in 1690 he was a deputy in the generalassembly; in 1690 he was a lieutenant in the general assembly.

[5728] He was of East Greenwich and Coventry. Samuel was made a freeman in1685, member of the grand jury in 1688, and deputy and lieutenant in1690.This line is unsubstantiated. Came from H. Andrew Brown([email protected]), 21 Jan 1996 without sources..

[10276] In 1711 Samuel and his wife, Rachel, deed for love, etc., to my sonSamuel 10 acres. She concurred in separate statement by naming Samuel,'my son-in-law', which expression at that time, indicated he was herhusband's son.

[257] Andrew Warde is thought to have emigrated to New England about 1630.He was made freeman May 14, 1634 at Boston. He first settled inWatertown, Mass; was a founder of Connecticut Colony and an originalsettler at Wethersfield before 1637 where he held several offices inthe colony; he was also a founder of Stamford in 1641 and with othersmade a purchase in Hempstead LI, but after some difficulty with theDutch government he went to Fairfield in 1647. He was a man ofconsequence and great worth and frequently served on committees of theGeneral Assembley. He was the ancestor of a respectable and wealthyfamily who resided in Hartford.
