(sigh) His death certificate does not list parents. It does state that his body was given to the University of Oregon Medical School, which a google search and this wiki page tells me is now named Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). Donated bodies to medical schools are cremated when they are done with their research. So no tombstone to go visit.... His death certificate says he was in the hospital for almost 2 years, and that prior to that he was living at the Washington Hotel (now the Washington Annex and it is operated by the Mark Spencer Hotel). (2015) I ordered Fred's Social Security application (SS-5). Just the computer extract copy as it was only $16 and the photocopy of the original was $27 and certification is another $10. I can always order the other type later. It has his birth date and his parents names listed. As I have not found a death date for Fred yet (to order a death certificate) I hope I can use this to prove his parents too. (2014) Decided to do a little searching again and finally found him in previous census records. I had not been able to find him with his parents, only the census records after he moved out, was married, etc. Well his father, Nineveh, passed away when Fred was about 9 months old and his mother remarried, I just had to find out to whom that was. Turns out it was Daniel Myers and Fred is listed in the 1880 census as 'Fred J Myers', so that made finding him difficult! I had decided to search on his sister's name, Myrtle Alzina Jackson, because that is more unique than 'Fred Jackson' and that lead me to the step-father's household. (2011) Finally found some time to do a little research and found information on both of his marriages on the LDS Family Search site. FamilySearch has a transcription of Fred and Rosa's marriage information. Date is 8 March 1893. His parents are listed as 'Will Jackson' and 'Rebecca Berch'. Rosa's parents are listed as 'Parkhull or Parfhull Beaubot' and 'Amanda Gronger'. There was also a transcription of Fred and Lily's marriage information. Date is 28 May 1906. Fred's parents are listed as 'Ninevah Jackson' and 'Rebecca Burch'. Lillie Bell's parents are 'Reuben R Clark' and 'Catharine Walker'. A lot of the census records for Cono and Conn say Iowa County but a Google search says that 'Cono Township' is in Buchanan County. I don't see anything that says Cono used to be part of Iowa County and is now part of Buchanan County, or vice versa, either. This page says (for Iowa County), 'Cono - A post office (1855-63) in the eastern part of Conn Township.' although I can't seem to find anything about a Conn Township at all. ha! Very confusing. Here are other profile pages for Fred at Ancestry and FamilySearch, WikiTree, MyHeritage and Find-A-Grave. |
