Paul Daellenbach
     Paul Daellenbach was born on 29 July 1888 in Abbotsford, Clark County, Wisconsin.2 He was the son of Johannes Dällenbach and Elisabeth Lee Hodel.1 See a picture of the Daellenbach family taken circa 1897. Paul, age 11, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1900 Federal Census in Dorchester, Clark County, Wisconsin. I do not know if he was attending school since no one on the page was marked for attending school.3 Follow the link to see the census image. Paul, age 21, was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1910 Federal Census in Mayville, Clark County, Wisconsin.4 Paul worked as a photographer working out of his "own gallery."           Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. Paul filled out a draft card on 5 June 1917 in Brookside, Phillips County, Montana. He was described as short with a medium build and blue eyes. He is 28 years old and he works as a farmer.2
          Paul married Henrietta Meyer circa 1918. He was 30 and she was about 26.5 Paul and Henrietta had at least 4 children. These children are Francis O., Katharine E., Kenneth Oswald and Mary Lou.
          On 11 October 1918, Paul received his land patent as a "Homestead entry - stock raising" for land located in Phillips County, Montana. It is for 327.82 acres in Township 27N, 26E. Here a copy of the land patent.6
          Paul, age 31, and Henrietta, age 27, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Brookside Township, Phillips County, Montana. This area is in Township 27 Range 27 (School District #26).7 Paul worked as a farmer. Follow the link to see the census image.
          Paul, age 42, and Henrietta, age 38, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census in Brookside. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Francis (age 10), Katharine (age 9), and Kenneth (age 8). They own their farm but the value is not listed and they have a radio. Paul is a World War veteran.8 Paul worked as a farmer on a general farm. Follow the link to see the census image.
          On 20 October 1930, Paul Daellenbach received his land patent as a "Homestead entry - stock raising" for land located in Phillips County, Montana. It is for 56.06 acres located in township 27N, ranges 26 and 27E. Here a copy of the land patent.9 An article appeared in The Independent Record in reference to angora wool being processed in Malta, "At present, the wool is dyed at the Daellenbach honey warehouse where steam boilers are available. In time vats will be installed at the mill building, Mr. Simms says." Follow the icon to read the entire article.10 Paul was listed as a brother of Emil Daellenbach in the obituary published on 17 October 1948 in an unknown Great Falls Newspaper.           Paul died on 24 November 1978 in Phillips County, Montana.12,13 He was 90 old. According to the SSDI, his last residence was in Malta. His Social Security Number was 516-16-4336 and was issued in Montana.
