Cornelius Charles Madderom¹ (M)

     Cornelius Charles Madderom was born on 10 June 1893 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.¹ He was the son of Cornelius Klaus Madderom and Antje Kuijper.²
          Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. Cornelius filled out a draft card on 5 June 1917 in Chicago. He was described as having a medium build and tall height. He had gray eyes and brown hair. He was married but his wife's name is not given. She and their 3 week old son were solely dependent upon him for support.¹ Cornelius worked as a coal yard manager at C.K. Madderom Coal at 355 W. 112th Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.¹ Cornelius was living at 114 W. 104th Street in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.¹ Cornelius died in January 1968 in Holland, Ottawa County, Michigan.² He was 74 old.
