* James and Sarah were married Christmas Day, 1869 along with another couple, John Sledge & Catharine Graham.
They were witnesses for each other weddings at Collingwood Ont.
James and his wife Sarah are buried in the
Trinity United Cemetery, Collingwood, Ontario.
They both died in a house fire along with Sarah's mother.
Grace was their only child and was adopted.

Mungo was a baby and the last child to be born in Scotland before the Dand's left their homeland to come to Canada.
Mungo Dand is buried between his two wives in Burns Presbyterian Cemetary
An infant son, Mungo C.A. Munro Dand, is buried there as well.
Mungo and Anne are my Gr.Grandparents through their sixth child James Albert Dand.
Martin fought and died in World War One. He is buried in the Bedford House Cemetery, Enclosure No.4,
Zillebeke, Belgium, Plot 11, Row B, Grave 58.

4    Margaret married David Tait in 1897 in Orillia, he was older man and a widower with several children Margaret�s age. It could be guessed that Margaret went to Orillia to work for David looking after the family when David�s wife, Annie Wainright, died in 1896. David worked for his half brother, Andrew Tait, who sold his interests in logging in Orillia in 1904. Both of their children, Alma and Edward were born in Orillia. Margaret and David went to Vancouver B.C. to work for David�s other half brother, William Lamont Tait.
There are death records located for all the members of the Tait family in B.C. except for Edward Orland Tait's.

5    Edward Orland Tait served with the 18th Field Ambulance Unit from April 26, 1917 to March 15, 1918, was discharged and then re-enlisted Feb. 20, 1919.
His attestation papers say he was a clerk.


Birth & Death
6    William Harvey McQuarrie also ended up leaving Orillia for Vancouver and was hired as William Tait's personal chauffeur. He was a fatality of the Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1918-19 in Vancouver at the age of 37.

-is mentioned in Margaret Thomson's obituary as one of the orphans raised by her.

In the 1901 census, John is also listed as an adopted son of Angus and Mary (Thomson) Ferguson.

John James McQuarrie had a homestead filed near Kelvington, Sk. at NE34 37 11 W2. Later he filed another south of Smilesville school, which is west of Kenaston Sk. at SE16 29 3 W3. He married Hilda Smiles and was an grain elevator manager in Kenaston. They moved to Saskatoon abt. 1911, after a brief period in Elrose Sask. John James McQuarrie also farm equipment for JI Case Co.

Russ was a hockey coach/manager for the Saskatoon Quakers, was a founding member of the Saskatoon Riding Club and was a sponser for the Olympic Equestrian Team and had the training center at his farm at Beaver Creek.   He owned horses that were used internationally. He is buried on the farm at Beaver Creek.
