Amos Vinyard

Amos born 1733 originated from Ireland and was half Irish and half Dutch. He married Katherine who was of German descent; she was also born in 1733. They were married in Ireland in 1751. It is believed that they had four children. One, John Vinyard married Mary Alice Pitchford of Pennsylvania. Some believe she was Pennsylvania Dutch.

John Vinyard was born 1753 in Augusta County, Virginia, and died 7/21/1834 in North Carolina. He married Mary Alice Pitchford in 1773 in North Carolina, She was the daughter of William Pitchford and Sarah Stiles. She was born 1753 in Pennsylvania, and died 1785 in Granville County, North Carolina.

Children of John Vinyard and Mary Pitchford are:

John Vinyard, Jr. born 1773 in Virginia and died 1852 in White County, Illinois; He married Leanna L. Sneed in 1795 in Tennessee; She was born 1767 in Virginia and died 1865 in White County, Illinois.

George Vinyard, Sr. born 1775 in Augusta County, Virginia and died in Hardin County, Illinois He married Mahalia Cole in 1795. She was born in 1775.

Daniel Vinyard was born 1777 in Augusta County, Virginia and died before 1847 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County,Illinois. He married (1) Elizabeth Gober about 1797 in Granville County, North Carolina. She was born in 1777 in Granville County, North Carolina and died about 1822 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County, Illinois
He married (2) Nancy Hill on 4/3/1836 in Gallatin, Gallatin County, Illinois. She was born in 1805 in Georgia and died before 1846 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County, Illinois.

Children of Daniel Vinyard and Nancy Hill are:

       Amanda J.2 Vinyard, born 1840 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County, Illinois.

       Susan M. Vinyard, born 8/15/1842 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County, Illinois; died 7/08/1889 in Hardin County, Illinois. She married James Hooten in Hardin County, Illinois. He was born 1840 in Tennessee, and died Bet. 1890 - 1900.
Susan and James are my Great-Great Grandparents

       Mary Ann Or Amarilla Vinyard, born Abt. 1845 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County, Illinois. She married Benjamin Y. Conner 7/25/1882.

       Elizabeth D. Vinyard, born Abt. 1846 in Monroe Twp., Hardin County, Illinois.

James Vinyard was born in 1779 in Virginia.

Susanna Vinyard was born in 1781 in Virginia and died in 1861 in Hardin County, Illinois. She married (1) George W. Jackson about 1800 in Pope County, Illinois. He was born in 1792 in Sumner County, Tennessee and died 12/26/1836 in Hardin County, Illinois. She married (2) John Harper on 1/13/1839 in Pope County, Illinois. He was born in 1800 in Saline County, Illinois.

Caroline Vinyard was born in 1783 in Virginia.
