92. William Denton STOCKTON 1, 2 (Mary Elizabeth BEALS , Eliza PAULSELL , David ) was born on 19 Aug 1876 in Dade Co, MO. He died on 23 Oct 1960 in Bonham, Fannin Co, TX and was buried in Arledge Ridge Cemetery, Bonham, Fannin, TX.
He is sometimes confused with his cousin W. Denton Stockton, son of Burton Stockton, who probably died in 1931 in TX.
Bill Stockton lost sight in an eye when he was chopping wood and a chip flew up and stuck in his eye.
He is listed on the 1920 Collin County Census as a laborer on a farm.
He drove the "Honey Dew Wagon". When Gary and I went to a reunion in Fannin County for one of the old schools that was between Leonard and Celeste, several people said that they remembered Mr. Stockton coming to clean the outhouses.(Note by D'Ann Green)
William married Oma GILMORE 1 in 1908 in Dade Co, MO. Oma was born on 14 Feb 1890 in Aurora, Lawrence, MO. She died on 12 Feb 1985 in Mineola, Wood, TX and was buried in Hooker Ridge Cemetery, East Tawakoni, Rains, Texas.
They had the following children:
260 M i Fred STOCKTON 1 was born in Nov 1909 in MO. He died 2 on 22 Jun 1926 in Leonard, Fannin, TX from drowning and was buried in Leonard Cemetery, Leonard, Fannin, TX.
DEATH: He drowned in the Leonard Pool at Leonard, Texas along with 2 other boys. The funeral for all 3 boys was held under the Pavilion that was at the Lake and used for the Annual Leonard Picinic. We assume he is buried in the Leonard Cemetary but there is no marker. (Note by D'Ann Green)

He died on 10 Nov 1979 in East Lake Tawakonie, Rains, TX from injuries from a hit and run accident.. Clyde was employed as railroad section laborer in Leonard, Fannin, TX.
