West Union Church of Christ

This photo of the West Union Church of Christ shows what appears to be a fairly new construction.  The plaque under the crest above the two doors reads West Union, A.D. 1871.  Notice the difference in construction from the picture dated 1913, suggesting that this building may have been destroyed and rebuilt.  In the above construction, a chimney appears in the crown of the roof.  There are double entrance doors.  Along the depth of the building there are 3 windows.  The edges of the roof wrap around onto the front-outside wall of the church.  No tombstones can be seen at the right side of the church.  All of these items are different in the 1913 photo of the church.  The 1913 design is the church that stands today (as of 2004).  Some of the above features more closely resemble the construction of the West Union (Lyman) School.
