Serious Accident at Thames

A serious accident occurred in the Sheridan Company's mine at Tapu on Saturday evening. Arthur Meyers and his mate Nicholls were tamping a hole in the low level crosscut, when the charge exploded, Meyers receiving the full force in his face and about the body. Nicholls was only slightly injured. Meyers was brought to the Hospital yesterday. He received severe injuries about the body, and his left arm is a good deal mutilated, while it is feared he will lose the sight of his left eye.
