Notes
I have seen reports that Nancy died in 1857 in Nelson County, KY and Nelson died 1857 in Paris, Monroe Co, MO (there is a Nelson Brown buried in Founders (Pioneer's) Cem in Paris) but I have not been able to confirm either of these things.
Nelson Brown's family appears to have broken up sometime between 1853 and 1860. I can find no record in the census of either Nelson or Nancy Hedden Brown in the 1860 census and the children are dispersed to other homes. It seems likely that both parents may have died.
