Orin Leslie Hobart was born March 27, 1882, in Fountain Green Township, Hancock County, Illinois, the son of Pardon Hobart and M. Florence McCumber.

Effie Mae Allen, daughter of Lewis Lamoine Allen and Mary Catherine Thompson, was born March 14, 1891, in Hazen, Arkansas.

Orin and Effie were married at LaHarpe, Hancock County, on November 10, 1912.

When Orin registered for Selective Service in 1918, he and Effie were living in the Webster area. Orin was farming, employed by Roy Rings.  He was described as being of medium height and build, with brown eyes and black hair.

In 1920 Orin and Effie were farming in Fountain Green Township.

In 1930 they were counted in Rock Creek Township.

Orin died November 22, 1956, at his home in (or near) Burnside, Pilot Grove Township, Hancock County.  Effie died April 2, 1967, at LaHarpe, Hancock County.  Both are buried at Webster Cemetery.

Their children:

i. Arthur L. Hobart, born December 26, 1913, probably in Fountain Green Township, Hancock County.  He was a casualty of WWII, died March 2, 1944.  Interment at Webster Cemetery.
 
ii. Floyd E. Hobart, born about 1915, probably in Fountain Green Township.  As of April 2, 1967, he was living at Statten Island, New York.
 
iii. Reva M. Hobart, born about 1917, probably in Fountain Green Township.  As of April 2, 1967, she was living at a rural address near Dallas City, Hancock County.
 
iv. Delta J. Hobart, born June 22, 1918, probably in Fountain Green Township.  She died in November of 1986, last address according to Social Security records, Alexandria, Virginia.
 
v. Laveta Ruth Hobart, born in 1919 probably in Fountain Green Township, died in 1933. Buried at Webster Cemetery.
 
vi. Lewis P. Hobart, born about 1921 in Hancock County.  As of April 2, 1967, he was residing in Dallas City, Illinois.
 
vii. Lyle Franklin Hobart, born January 21, 1924, died February 23, 1924, Durham Township, Hancock County, burial at Webster Cemetery.
 
viii. Willis Albert Hobart, born March 22, 1928, near Adrian in Rock Creek Township, Hancock County.  He died May 25, 1952, at Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois, and was buried at Moss Ridge Cemetery, Carthage, Hancock County.
