"Dear Carla, I have done no research on the daughters of Jean
Pierre Bondurant, primarily because other people have done so
much work on those lines. If you can get a copy of the Bondurant
Family Association newsletter No. 12, there is a very lengthy
and interesting article about Ann and James Ford and their
children, all 10 of them. Peter Ford, b. 11 Jan 1733/34 m.1)
Judith Maxey and had 9 children. Peter married 3 more times
(wife 2 - no issue; wife 3 - 3 children; wife 4 - one child).
The article says that Peter Ford's will was dated 4 Mar 1799 and
proved 5 Oct 1801 in Madison Co., KY. The author of this article
also cites an interesting story about Peter which is given in
Larry Ford's FAURE, FORD, FORE, FOREE OF MANAKIN TOWN. While on
their way to KY, the family stopped at a campsite near the
Little Laurel River. During the night of 3 Oct 1786, they were
attacked by a band of Miami Indians. Peter was wounded; his son
Obediah was killed; his daughter Anna was taken prisoner but
later escaped and her brother Joel fetched her back to VA; his
daughter Polly was adopted by the Indians; Peter's son Laban
survived the attack; Peter's son Jacob apparently did not go to
KY. The article author cites Tirey Ford's TRADITION OF THE FORD
FAMILY as source of info. on Jacob. The person who wrote this
article and the person who has the most info. on the Ford branch
of Bondurants is Ruby Talley Smith. Her e-mail is
[email protected] I urge you to write to her. I also suggest that
you join the Bondurant Family Association (do a search using the
name as the keyword and that should take you to the BFA
website). Their newsletter often contains info. on the Ford
family. There is much data available. Ruby's material seems to
be well documented. Hope this helps."
