27 Jun 1799 Plymouth, Royal George departed with the Sulphur, Volcano, and Explosion, bomb ketches, with some artillery men on board, to bombard the Spanish fleet near the Isle of Aix.

1 Jul 1799 arrived from Cawsand bay off Basque road.

12 Jul 1799 Plymouth, arrived from off the Isle of Aix the Mars, Ramilies, Ajax ; also the Volcano, Explosion, and Sulphur, gun and bomb vessels, with the Speedwell and Bilboa tenders, from the Isle of Aix.

14 Jul 1799 Plymouth, departed the Sulphur and Explosion bombs to the eastward.

9 Aug 1800 a squadron under Vice-Admiral Dickson consisting of the Monarch, Glatton, Polyphemus, Ardent, Veteran, Romney, Isis, Waakzamheid, and Martin ; Volcano, Hecla, Sulphur, and Zebra bombs ; Boxer, Furious, Griper, Swinger, and Haughty gun-vessels, departed North Yarmouth Roads for Copenhagen to be present during Lord Whitworth's negotiations with the Danish authorities! 15 Aug arrived in the Skaw and then went through a number of manoeuvres etc. ; and then departed for England. 14 Sep 1800 the squadron arrived back at Yarmouth.

Circa 12 Mar 1801 fleet under Admiral Sir Hyde Parker departed from Yarmouth roads for Copenhagen. 30 Mar the vessels initially detailed to take part in the forthcoming Battle of Copenhagen. 1 Apr the vessels detailed sail for Copenhagen ; the British ships held in reserve ; the Danish positions : 2 Apr the battle commences : the truce : the casualties : the wash-up :

12 Apr 1801 the fleet departed from Copenhagen into the Baltic.

18 Jun 1801 a letter of this date, received from Kioge Bay, in the Baltic, reports the presence of the following fleet, this at about the same time as Lord Nelson departed in the Kite for N. Yarmouth, V.-Adm Pole having arrived here in the Aeolus to relieve Nelson : the St George, Elephant, Defiance, Polyphemus, Edgar, Agamemnon, Defence, Adder, Aeolus, Kite, Dart, Zebra, Terror, Explosion, Sulphur, Discovery, Volcano, Hecla, Wrangler, Cracker, Safeguard, Sparkler, Attack, Tigress, Bruiser, Hasty, Biter, Otter, Force, Pleaser, Teazer.

19 Jul 1801 arrived N. Yarmouth with the Baltic fleet under the command of Adm Graves ; for the make up of the much reduced fleet click on : Defiance, flag ship.

20 Jul 1801 The fleet under the command of R.-Adm. Sir Thomas Graves, which arrived yesterday evening from the Baltic, departed N. Yarmouth today ; for the revised make up of the fleet click on Polyphemus.

23 Jul 1801 arrived in the Downs.

23 Jul 1802 head money for those present at the Engagement at Copenhagen, on the 2d April 1801, due for payment.

3 Aug 1801 wind NE, departed the Downs last night the Zebra, Volcano, Discovery, Sulpher and Hecla bombs and tenders to the coast of France.

6 Aug 1801 arrived in the Downs the Sulphur, Volcano, Zebra, Discovery and Hecla, bombs and tenders, from off Boulogne, having destroyed 10 sail of French gun vessels.

19 Sep 1801 arrived in the Downs the Eugenie and Diligence sloops ; Sulphur bomb ; Charger, Bold, and Ferreter, gun-vessels, and remain.

23 Sep 1801 departed the Downs on a cruise.

18 Oct 1801 arrived in the Downs from Dungeness, a strong westerly gale blowing at the present time.

5 Jun 1803 remain in the Downs, the frigates Leda and Hydra ; the sloops Ranger and Cruiser ; and the bomb Sulphur.

12 Jun 1803 departed the Downs on a cruise.

21 Jun 1803 R.-Adm Montague transferred his flag from the Raisonable at Deal, to the Sulphur bomb.

23 Jun 1803 remains in the Downs, the Sulphur, the Gelykheid, and Basilisk.

3 Jul 1803 departed the Downs for the Coast of France.

5 Jul 1803 returned to the Downs from cruising with the gun brig Archer off Dunkirk, and departed again, in the afternoon, for the coast of France.

14 Jul 1803 the Immortalite, frigate ; Sulphur, bomb, Capt M'Leod ; and Locust, gun brig, departed the Downs for a cruise on the French coast.

21 Jul 1803 the Immortalite, in company with the Hydra, and Bloodhound, stood in close to Havre and fired at the gun-boats in the harbour, whilst the Sulphur bomb lobbed several shells into the town. They also detained the Danish ship De Lebre, with wine from Havre.

24 Jul 1803 this evening arrived Portsmouth the Danish ship De Lebre, with wine, from Havre, sent in by the Immortalite, Hydra, Bloodhound, and Sulphur.

13 Aug 1803 departed the Downs on a cruise.

27 Aug 1803 arrived in the Downs from a cruise.

28 Aug 1803 departed the Downs, the Ranger, sloop ; the bomb Sulphur ; and cutter Swallow on a cruise.

4 Sep 1803 remain in the Downs the Monarch, Adm Lord Keith ; Utrecht, R.-Adm Montague, Capt Rogers ; Raisonable, Capt Hotham ; Immortalite, Capt Owen ; Ranger, Capt Coote ; Sulphur, Capt McLeod ; and Conflict, Mariner, Speculation, gun brigs ; the transports Comet, Canada, Aurora, and Minerva, under the command of Capt Watson, RN.

7 Sep 1803 departed the Downs, the Immortalite, and Sulphur, on a cruise off the Coast of France.

13-15 Sep 1803 bombardment of Granville, on the French coast.

17 Sep 1803 arrived Spithead following the bombardment of Granville, last from Guernsey, the rest of the squadron having departed to take possession of the Islands La Conch�e, near St Malo.

20 Sep 1803 departed Spithead in company with Terror and a convoy for the Downs.

21 Sep 1803 arrived in the Downs the Sulphur, with a convoy from Portsmouth.

3 Oct 1803 arrived Sheerness the Sulphur, Terror, Explosion, and Perseus, with their tenders.

12 Oct 1803 remain in the Downs the Monarch, Right Hon Adm Lord Keith ; Utrecht, R.-Adm Montague, Capt Rogers ; Diana, Capt Maling ; Ranger, sloop, Capt Coats ; Squirrel ; Autumn, Capt Jackson ; Vesuvius, Capt O'Brien, bomb ; Sulphur, Capt M'Leod ; Archer, Conflict, Monkey, and Sterling, gun brigs ; the latter from a cruise.

27 Oct 1803 departed the Downs for Dungeness.

24 Nov 1803 arrived Dungeness Roads the Leopard and Merlin and remain with the Sulphur.

25 Nov 1803 arrived Dungeness the Leda, Fortunee, and Autumn from the Downs and remain with the Leopard and Sulphur. Departed for off Havre the sloop Merlin. Several neutral merchantmen remained wind bound. Wind NW by W.

27 Nov 1803 remains in Dungeness Roads.

29 Nov 1803 departed departed Dungeness for the Downs.

29 Nov 1803 arrived in the Downs.

Circa 15 Dec 1803 the Leopard and Sulphur, bomb, surveyed the French Coast in the region of Boulogne, and were joined later by the Immortalite, Hardy, Leda, Fortunee, and Bloodhound. On the 17th they observed a convoy of 22 brigs &c., get into Boulogne from the Westward, and were close to cutting some of them off. They note that there about 100 gun boats in Boulogne, exclusive of brigs.

1-3 Oct 1804 fire ships expended and the trial of a new form of fire boat known as a "catamaran," on the French flotillas anchored off Boulogne. The officers in charge of the fire or explosion vessels were as follows : Capts MacLeod, of the Sulphur ; Jackson, of the Autumn ; Edwards of the Fury ; Collard of the Railleur ; and Searle of the Helder defence ship. Lieuts Stewart of the Monarch ; Lowry of the Leopard ; Payne of the Immortalite ; Templer of the Sulphur ; Midshipman Bartholomew of the Inflexible ; Capts Winthrop of the Ardent ; and Owen of the Immortalite, superintended the operations from the Southward ; and Hon Capt Blackwood, of the Euryalus, from the Northward.
