Johan was born at
Germany in April 1680. He was the son of
Johannes Barth. Johan Georg Barth married
Anna Barbara Klein, daughter of
Johan Wolf Klein and
Barbara Shaffer, on 26 November 1715 at
Sinsheim, Heidelberg, Baden, Germany. William Newman reports that Johan Georg and Anna Barbara had another daughter than what I list. This daughter's name was reported as Anna, and that she was born about 1723 in Germany. This Anna is reported to have been married to John Leonard Billmeyer on 27 Nov. 1736 in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. If those dates are correct, that means that Anna was about 13 years old when she was married. Johan immigrated, on 18 September 1727. Destination: an unknown place . He was naturalized on 9 January 1729 at
Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania; According to Rupp's 30,000 Names, page 436, Johann Georg Bard was naturalized between Jan. 9, 1729 and 1730. According to Annette Kunselman Burgert, in her "Eighteenth Century Emigrants from German-Speaking Land to North America: Volume I: The Northern Kraichgau" John George Bard, of Lancaster Co., was naturalized by Act on March 29, 1735.
He was land contract on 8 January 1733 at
Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania; On 8 Jan 1733, George obtained deed of 250 acres of land in Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania. He left a will on 2 January 1769 at
Lampeter Twp., Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania; In George Bard's will, which is record in Will Book B., Vol 1, page 562, Jan. 2, 1769, listed sons: Zacharias, Michael and George Philip (who was name executor) and mentions five daughters, but they are not named. The daughters were to each receive 1 shilling. Godfried Klein and Leonard Landon witnessed the Will. The Will was probated on Nov. 3, 1769. Johan died on 1 August 1769 at
Lampeter Twp., Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania, at age 89. He was buried on 3 August 1769 at
Bard Field Cemetery, Leacock Twp., Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.
