On 27 February 1933, he married Marie Agnes Heck in Van Wert, Van Wert, Ohio. She is the daughter of William Heck and Clara Veronica Wurm. She was born 24 October 1915 in Paulding county, Ohio. She died 4 October 1973 -- just 20 days short of her 58th birthday -- in Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana.
