Matilda Ballard Kinsey Obituary

Matilda Ballard (Mrs. Edmond) Kinsey found in the Marshalltown Times-Republican Paper Friday January 8, 1897: 

     "Mrs. Matilda Kinsey died Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Solomon Landes 514 North Second Street.  The cause of her death was paralysis.  Deceased was the wife of Edward (Edmond) Kinsey who died nine years ago.  Since that time she made her home with her son, L. M. Kinsey four miles north of the city, until last spring when she came to the city.  Deceased was the mother of eleven children--six boys and five girls--all of whom are living.  She was born in Clinton county, O., eighty years ago but had been a resident of Iowa since 1856, first settling in Grundy county.   The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from her late home with interment at Albion.  Rev. Hadley of the Friends church officiating."
