Love Letter to Clint Vernon from Alta Flowers ~1890

***Please see bottom of page for a possible identification of Alta Flowers

This is a letter written to our  Great Grandfather Amos Clinton Vernon

four years before he married Emma Clara Kinsey, my Great Grandmother.

The letter was written by Alta Le Flowers, whom I have not found any connection

to in our family.  This must have been very special for my family to saved it all

these years.   I have the original, do any of you know Alta?

Subject: Alta Flowers
Hi,
I ran across your page while searching for some info on a person in my
family tree, and was fascinated to read the letter from Alta L. Flowers.  I have no
idea if this is the same person in my family tree or not, but it sounds like
it well could be.  Alta Lucina Flowers was b. 15 June 1870 in Mt. Pleasant,
Gallia County, Ohio.  She married William H. Woodland, although I do not have a
marriage date for them.  Alta died 26 Nov. 1929 in Painesville, Lake County,
Ohio.  She and William had seven children.  William Woodland is my
great-granduncle.  Anyway, it surely looks like it could be the same person who wrote the
letter to your ancestor, Clint Vernon, and I thought you might be interested to know a
bit of what happened to Alta.
