Martha CODDINGTON
(1711-1782) |
Martha CODDINGTON 196
General Notes: "It appears that there lived in Essex Co. New Jersey, before the Revolution, a certain William Coddington, whose children were William, Robert, Betsy, and Samuel, three of whom were early settlers of what is now Garrett County. The Frazees were also from northeastern New Jersey, and one of them, Judge Jonathan, married Martha, daughter of Benjamin Coddington of Woodbridge, New Jersey, so it is probably that the Frazees induced the Coddingtons to come to Maryland, thus starting the "New Jersey" settlement which included the Ruten and Savage families from the same state--all located on near the old Morgantown road at Selbysport." 226 Noted events in her life were: • Conflicting birth information: 1716. • She was mentioned in the will of Benjamin Coddington as one of his children. Martha married Judge Jonathan FRAZEE, son of John FRAZEE and Sarah OLIVER, in 1727 in Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., New Jersey, USA. (Judge Jonathan FRAZEE was born on 5 Jun 1714 in Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., New Jersey, USA, died on 2 Jun 1777 in Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., New Jersey, USA and was buried in First Pres. Cmty, Woodbridge, Middlesex Co., New Jersey.) |
