Laura's obituary in the Amesbury News reads as follows:
"Mrs. Laura A. E. Mann, 70, widow of Herbert W. Mann, of 3 Rocky Hill Road, died just before midnight at the Amesbury Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Clovelly, England, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Hopkins) Westalke on April 8, 1880.
She was member and an active worker of the Point Shore Christian Church as long as her health permitted. She was also affiliated with the New Egland Order of Protection.
A woman with a distinct personal charm and much given to little acts of kindness, particulary for those who were ill or who had suffered bereavement, she had a host of friends, particularly in the Point Shore section of town.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Grace Deguio of this town and Mrs. Raymond Cronin of Salisbury, and one son, Warren H. Mann, of this town." Her funeral was held from her home at 3 Rocky Hill Road.

Laura migrated from Clovelly England with her parents and her brother, Tom, and cousin Hattie Bragg. She was an avid gardener and was very succesful in persuading Herbert to rebuild 9 Evans Place to her liking. She left a legacy of beautiful gardens, particularly her peonies and iris. She would take enormous bouquets of peonies to the hospital. In about 1946-47, she had a leg amputated after a blood clot developed after a brief bed stay. She is buried in plot C41 at Salisbury Point Cemetery.
