"IT IS NOT THE ROOTS AND THE TREE WHICH YIELDETH THE TRUE GLORY BUT RATHER THE LEAVES WHICH ADORN THE BRANCHES."

by Sir Francis Drake

This page contains links to my personal databases. You should note that the information contained herein is intended ONLY AS A GUIDE to other researchers and undoubtedly contains inaccuracies. Some of it is documented with primary sources (offline), some is compiled data sent to me by others. While I do hope to eventually document everything it is not possible at present.

As always YOU SHOULD VERIFY ALL MATERIAL contained in the pages yourself as transcription errors can creep in.  If you should note an error please let me know so that it can be corrected. If you can add to these families please do so to assist others in finding their heritage. The data in this website is certainly not complete, nor will it ever likely be, due to the nature of genealogical research.

Dates for living people and sources have been omitted

Only a few of the many names you will find in my databases:

Adams Archibald Astles Beairsto Caldwell Campbell Carmichael Chatterton Cochrane Cook Cunningham Dobson Fair Firth Flowers Forsythe Fullerton Gallon Garrett Hamilton Irvine Imhoff Irvine Keays MacLean Mann McColm McDavid McKenzie McNair McRae Miller Nichol Rafter Sinclair Smith Stewart Sullivan Teague Thompson Travers Vibert, etc.

  • My Master Database: Families of Restigouche Co., New Brunswick, and Bonaventure Co., Quebec, Canada

This file contains more than 23,000 individuals, including a great many to whom I am directly related. Most of these folks’ origins are in Bonaventure County, Quebec, and Restigouche County, New Brunswick, Canada, and back to Scotland in many instances. Many other locations do appear of course. Thanks to all the contributors, too many to mention here.

My grandmother was Georgina May McLean of Heron Island, New Brunswick. This database consists of more than 2,600 descendants of her gg-grandfather, John McLean, born around 1699 on the Isle of Mull, Scotland, and to those of his grandson, Angus MacLean and his wife Mary Sinclair, pioneers to Restigouche County, New Brunswick.

Although I am not directly descended from Robert Miller and Elizabeth James, there are many connections to the MacLean family, and to other families in the areas of my research.  Here you will find about 2,400 descendants of Robert and Elizabeth. A very large portion of this database is thanks to the Rev. Robert MacLean of Bedford, Nova Scotia.
