  Born in Jacksonville, GA on January 1, 1928 son of the late Abron and Blanche (Mootry) Wells, he had lived in Bloomfield for the past 50 years. Before retiring he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford and was a self-employed real estate broker.
  
  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a longtime baseball enthusiast. He was a long standing member of Tuscan Lodge # 17, Hartford.
  
  He is survived by six children, Gaynelle Warren and husband Lenton of Atlanta, GA, JoVita Wells of Silver Springs, MD, Wanda Broaden and husband Joseph of Bloomfield, David Wells and wife Judi of Seattle, WA, Andrew Wells and wife Elisa of Bloomfield, and Eric Wells and wife Kathy of Plainville; a brother, Paul Wells and wife Bernice of South Windsor; sister, Bertha Chalk of Windsor; sister-in-law Rebecca Wells of South Windsor; and brother-in-law George Anderson of North Carolina.
  
  He also leaves 11 grandchildren, Vernita L. Durden, Jesse J. Poole, and Ashlee D. Williams of Atlanta, GA, Christopher W. Bradshaw of Silver Spring, MD, Joseph S. Broaden VI and Joshua W. Broaden, Chareese M. Gonzalez and Crystal M. Santiago of Bloomfield, Ryan C. Gonzalez of Bristol, and Quintin S. Wells and Mikayla J. Wells of Plainville; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Abron touched the lives of many and will be missed by his countless nephews, nieces and cousins, as well as by close friends, Annie Mae Lewis, Robert and Louise Harris, and Mr. Morris Baker.
  
  He was predeceased by his wives, Mary Loretta (Weston) Wells and Lena (Edwards) Wells, and brothers and sisters, Levi, George, Louise (Wells) Holloman, and Geneva (Wells) Anderson.
  
  The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 11-1pm at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held, at 12:30 p.m.
