Mahala Haley Webb
Mahala "Haley" Webb

Haley is the "newest" addition to the grandchildren of Hiram.  We only just found out about her recently, early 2001, though Denise Gregory had suspicions earlier.

Haley was born about 1851.  We miss her on the 1860 census where we are unable to find John G. Webb's family.  She was probably married by 1870, when she is not with the family any longer.  One of her children is with John G. Webb's family in the 1880 census, though she is listed incorrectly as daughter (Willie H.).  Haley must have died at a relatively young age as well.  This means we have very little proof that she even existed.

But John G. Webb's will mentions his Lowery grandchildren and from this and some descendant's memories, we have pieced her together.  The relevant part states:  the children of Mrs. Haley Lowry desceased to wit Earnest, Todd, Levy, Leona , Sallie and Connie Lowry; whose post office and residence is unknown...  (this is the only mention of Haley's name known to exist!).

We have no idea what happened to the other children.
