The earliest known ancestor is Thomas Houghton (b:1883, Walton le dale, Lancashire, England; d: 1875, Blackburn, Lancashire, England) married to Jane Emmett (b:1836, Mellor, Lancashire, England; d:1898, Blackburn, Lancashire, England). Thomas's father is listed as Thomas Hoghton on his marriage record, but I've been unable to find other records/ go back further).
