There is an ongoing
y-chromosome DNA Surname Study being
undertaken, which is comparing the DNA of
'Livingston men' with others who might
have a similar DNA signature. Within this
study it has been discovered that the Lees
of England are closely related to the
MacLeas of Lismore. The genetic distance
between the two testees is estimated to
set their common ancestor as having lived
between 700 and 1200 years ago. Funding
for the project is totally dependent upon
the participants of the study (about
£125 per individual). For more
