Wednesday April 6, 1892
Sister Annie Medley was born August 9, 1878 and was drowned March 2, 1892, aged thirteen years, seven months and three days. She was united with Slaughter's Creek Baptist Chaurh in January 1892. She was a good Christian and obedient girl to her parents. The funeral was preached by Rev. J. W. Stone, who was aiding in the meeting when Sister Annie was converted and present when the body was found. Text 2 Sam. 12:33, Mark 5:39. He preached a very good sermon to a very large congregation. May God's special blessing rest upon the parents and brothers and sister and all who are bereaved by this death.

Miss Annie Belle Meddley, her uncle, J. A. Meddley, and Felix Burdette were drowned Saturday in the Kanawha River at Peerless, about twenty miles above Charleston.

Tuesday, March 15, 1892
The remains of the person, viz: Miss Annie Belle Medley, J. A. Medley and Felix Burdette, who were drowned at Peerless Saturday afternoon have been recovered. The body of the young lady was found about 10 o'clock Sunday morning and was taken to Slaughter's Creek for interment, and the body of Medley and Burdette were recovered- the former Sunday evening and the latter yesterday. The remains of the two men were brought to this city yesterday and will be interred today on Cooper's Creek. Burdette's body was brought down on the Sanoma last evening.
