Notes on Passengers into New South Wales
1842 - 1887
1842 - CHAMPION
Patrick was from Aughrim,County
Galway, the son of Peter and Ann Darmody. Aughrim is only about 15
miles from Banagher.
Mary was from Abascragh, County
Galway, the daughter of Hugh and Margaret Costello. Patrick and Mary spent
some time in New South Wales because the birth of their son, Thomas, in
1850 is recorded in that state.
1864 OCEAN EXPRESS
Two sisters, Maria and Anastasia
were born in County Kilkenny, in 1831 and 1833 respectively.
Their parents were Keyrian (?) and Mary (Cody). Maria married Patrick
Reidy in Kilkenny, in 1857.
