RUSSELL WARREN BEDILLION May 17, 1951 - July 5, 2018 In his lifetime, Russell touched so many others in a special way. He was very proud of the things he accomplished in his life; from his military service in Korea to his time spent working at the local VFW, earning his bachelor's degree from Humboldt State University, to his compassionate work with traumatic brain injured clients at the 'Making Headway Center' in Eureka. Russell was also a pillar of his family and through his efforts, reunited a group of people that had belonged together but had been apart for decades. He was most proud, however, of his 37 years of marriage to his loving wife, Polly. Russell had many things he was passionate about in life. Once he latched on to something, he wanted to know everything about it, and wanted to share it with the world. He loved photography, music, comedy, and politics among other things. His online presence was substantial and he was tireless in his efforts to document his family's historical record. Russell was also very generous with his time, and took real pride in helping others. Russell always wanted to make sure that his impact on the world was a positive one. He loved discussing politics or the state of the world and would listen with an open mind to other people's points of view. He loved nothing more than exposing others to new ideas and you always came away with a new outlook after having a discussion with Russell. He was a funny, kind, caring man and will be missed by many, and while he has left us, he will never be gone. Russell is preceded in death by his sister, Cathie. He is survived by his wife Polly, mother Charlotte Fritz, sisters Suzan (Mike), Charlotte, Kathleen (John), and Brother Fred. His life also touched countless nephews, nieces, cousins, and other extended family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Russell's name to Making Headway Center, 750 K St, Eureka, CA 95501.

"Yet the timeless in you is aware of life's timelessness, And knows that yesterday is but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream. And that that which sings and contemplates in you is still dwelling within the bounds of that first moment which scattered the stars into space." - Kahlil Gibran

[N463] Russell explained to me in about 2016 that Susan Wang was a friend of Suzan Bedillion's who was about to be deported. He married her to keep that from happening and they divorced without his having seen her again.
