ALL SAINTS, VILLAGE CHURCH FOR THE PARISH... which was originally built of Pentewan stone in a Norman cruciform shape; the tower & spire was added in the 14th century, and a south aisle in the 15th. It was extensively remodeled in 1881, when the Gothic rood screen was saved and re-installed in its rightful place. For more photos of the church and village, click here. Despite these photos being taken in the middle of February, notice the flowers. Spring flowering comes early! And this is the famous St. Ewe camellia, in front of the 14th century entrance. The celtic cross is the War Memorial. |
