  • In 1820, David was in the Council of the Territorial Legislature and in April of 1820 he was on the Grand Jury of HempAR

  • In 1824, records show he was the fourth coroner to serve in MillAR after it was organized in 1821.

  • When Sevier County was organized during Oct of 1828, David was appointed as a Commissioner by the Arkansas Territorial Legislature to "select a location and name for a Seat of Justice for the purpose of holding court". It should be noted that the above mentioned counties joined and boundaries changed.

  • David died a young man at about the time of daughter Sallie's birth.

  • Sarah Clark Straley died in Adamsville, LampTX at age 82. Joe Straley was the informant on her death certificate. On it her parents are listed as David Clark and Minerva English.

  • David's brother, James Clark, is whom the town of Clarksville, RedRTX is named after.

  • On May 8, 1830, Benjamin H.G. Hartfield and Minerva Clark came to Siever County Court, and it was ordered that the letters of Administration on the estate of David Clark, deceased, be granted to them (was Hartfield her attorney?).

  • David's father, Benjamin, has a Revolutionary War marker dedicated to him in Clarksville, RedRTX.  Also, from Your French-Straley-Davis Ancestry: "from the book Arkansas Pensioners, compiled by Dorothy Payne":

Benjamin Clark filed a Revolutionary War Pension Application numbered S31611, dated 3 October 1832, Hempstead County, Territory of Arkansas. Benjamin Clark, Senior was born in January 1758 in Dobbs, North Carolina. When he was about 2 years old his parents moved to Duplin, North Carolina, where he was residing up to and during the Revolution.  He enlisted in service in 1775 or 1776 and served under several different commanders. After the war he moved to Sampson County, North Carolina, for 3 or 4 years, from there to Edgefield County, South Carolina for 9 or 10 years, from there to Logan County, Kentucky for about 18 months, then to Sumner and Wilson counties in Tennessee for about 20 years.
