Frances Mary Pliska was born on 10 June 1877 in Bohemia.2 She was the daughter of Johann J. Pliska and Frances Dufek.1 Frances also went by the name of Fannie.3 She immigrated with her parents in 1888 to the United States of America. They may be the Pliska family that came through Port Baltimore on the ship Strassburg which landed on 23 May 1887. This will need additional research. Family stories indicate that one of the girls was sick with chicken pox and the entire family was detained at the hospital until she recovered.4 Follow the icon to see a picture of the Pliska family taken sometime after Frances (Dufek) Pliska died in 1894. Frances, age 22, was enumerated in the household of her father on the 1900 Federal Census in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.1 Follow the link to see the census image.
Frances married Stanley Frank Sadil, son of Frank Sadil and Magdalena Sedivy, on 4 June 1900 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.3 He was 30 years old; she was 22.           Stanley, age 60, and Frances, age 55, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 5901 S. 24th Street in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.6 Follow the link to see the census image.
Stanley died on 23 February 1939, leaving Frances a widow.7 Frances died on 16 July 1948 in Omaha.3 She was 71 old. The cause of death was given as a stroke.8 She and Stanley were buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska.3
