Descendant of J.A.M. Maria Catharine Mühlschlägel
b. 13 March 1760
Last Edited=12 Jun 2004

Maria Catharine Mühlschlägel was born circa 1760.1 Maria was baptized on 13 March 1760 at Peters Church in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Here is an excerpt of her father's diary translated from German "13 March 1760 my daughter is born to the world, the sponsor was Maria Catharine Brannerin, she gave the child the name Maria Catharine, baptized by Georg Preacher Michael in the Peters Church."2 She was the daughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel and Anna Maria Emmitt.1 She followed German naming customs and went by the name of Catherine.3 According to Grace Kelso Garner in Earliest Settlers of Western Frederick-Eastern Hampshire Counties, Catharine and Hanna were twins. However, their father gives different birth (or baptism?) dates so I am not sure this assertion is correct.4
Catharine married Phillip Horn.3 Catharine and Phillip had 5 children but only the names of four are known. These children are John, Martha, Jacob and George.3 The 1790 census records for Virginia have been lost. Other sources for residence information will need to be found. The 1800 census records for Virginia have been lost. Other sources for residence information will need to be found.
She is the daughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.

At first I thought these dates were baptizism dates but in his last entry he writes "born to the world and then prepared for holy baptism" which made me think his entries were birth dates.
