Laura Millslagle was born circa 1876 in Nebraska.² She was the daughter of James H. Millslagle and Mary E. Johnson.¹ Laura, age 4, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1880 Federal Census in Pleasant Valley, Platte County, Nebraska.¹ Follow the link to see the census image. Laura, age 9, was enumerated in the household of her parents on the 1885 Nebraska State Census in St. Bernard, Platte County, Nebraska.³ Laura married Archey P. Belcher on 14 January 1896 in Morgan County, Illinois.⁴ Laura and Archey had at leaast 10 children. These children are Leo, Glenn Lawrence, Warden, Wayne, Jessie, Findley, Mary E., Frances E., Edna and Edith.
Archey, age 48, and Laura, age 44, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Temple Hill, Barren County, Kentucky. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Leo (age22), Warden (age 21), Wayne (age 16), Jessie (age 14), Findley (age 10), Mary (age 8), Frances (age 7), Edna (age 6), and Edith (age 4 years and 3 months). Not enumerated with them was Glenn (age about 19).⁵ Follow the link to see the census image. She is the 2nd great-granddaughter of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
