     Anna (?) was born circa 1849 in Rhode Island.1 Anna married Thomas Rafferty, son of John Rafferty and Ann Ross.2
          Thomas, age 23, and Anna, age 21, were enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census in Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio. Also enumerated in this household were Thomas' mother, Mrs. Ann (Ross) Rafferty, and his siblings, Mary (age 13), Ellen (age 11), Elizabeth (age 9), and Annie (age 20). There are also several "boarders" that have not been entered into this database: Michael Grady (age 35), John Carmeron (age 33), William OCallem (age 33), Mike Toole (age 40), and John Fliern (age 9).1 Anna worked as a seamstress.1 Follow the link to see the census image.
          Thomas, age 39, and Anna, age 30, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio. Also enumerated in this household were Mrs. Ann (Ross) Rafferty (Thomas' mother, age 52) and John Flyan (a boarder, age 49).
