Our James Harrison was an elder in the Shoalfords Church signing land records for the establishment of this cemetery.
He homesteaded land in Limestone Co., AL in 1818, and he owned about a half section of land. His estate inventory listed 19 slaves and other valuable assets. He was considered a wealthy man.
We know there was a Joseph Harrison that lived near my David H. Craig in the Shoalford District of Limestone Co. AL, and there was also a Benjaman Harrison lived close by, but we have not found any connections to the Harrison Family.
Tombstone says "Pvt Tenn Mtd Gunmen War of 1812 Jan 15, 1784-Jul. 24, 1841". [S234] [S234]
