June 19, 1919 - A. O. Adams, the contractor, and Mrs. Hattie Bell, daughter of
Charles Wonacott were married in Independence Sunday afternoon at the county
clerks office by Judge Dehy. Mrs. Williams was bride�s lady and Dan Williams

Helen Geneva Schiotz, 98, Ladysmith, died April 9, 2004, at Ladysmith of pneumonia after an illness of six days.
She was born on July 7, 1905, in Rice County, Minn., the daughter of O. B. and Esther Ellingboe.
She had lived in Iowa three years, Tony six years, Cameron for two years and the balance at Ladysmith.
She and Harold Schiotz were married in 1933, at Fairbault, Minn. He preceded her in death.
She was involved with the Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Hospital and Nursing Home Auxiliary volunteers, Rusk County Historical Society, and Kinship of Rusk County.
She belonged to Hope Lutheran Church, Ladysmith, and was a lifelong devoted member of the Hope Lutheran Women's Club, and belonged to the Eastern Star.
She was a loving mother and grandmother to seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She devoted her life to her family, church and community.
Survivors include a son, Dave (Karen) Schiotz of Menomonie; two daughters, Randy (Bernie) Von Wald of Lindstrom, Minn., and Bev (Mike) Thom of Madison; seven grandchildren, Kristi Stout, Duke Von Wald, Starcey Arco, Jenny
Grooms, Andy Grooms, Mark Schiotz and Matt Schiotz; and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Ellingboe.
Funeral services were on Tuesday, April 13, at Hope Lutheran Church with Pastors Dick Klabunde and Ed Zaiser officiating and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ladysmtih.
Nash-Jackan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

March 30, 1922 � P.B. Wonacott, a brother of our fellow citizen Chas. Wonacott
arrived from Willits, Cal a few days ago. The meeting was the first between
the brothers in many years. Austen Wonacott, the son of P.B. (Peyton Bell) is
in the highway employ, and Sunday quite a family reunion occurred. (Inyo
