Notes for THOMAS PERRY JOHNS:

Thomas was totally bedridden with rheumatoid arthritis.  He was unable to feed or dress self.  One day, while Winnie was working in the kitchen, Thomas got out of bed, pushed a step stool up to a high boy, retrieved a pistol from the top drawer, got back into bed and shot himself.  It is listed as a suicide.  What do you think?

Thomas and Winnie were the last of the Johns Families to live in the 150 year old Johns house on Front Street.  This old house burned in 1987 while her great grandson, Herbert Greenville Salisbury, III was living in it.
