He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Clearwater. Survivors include a son, Bill, Wilton, Conn; four stepchildren; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater.

Peter Murray, retired printer, who was making up THE TRIBUNE on the night when the great fire in 1871 began, and who, like other Chicagoans, finally had to run for his life, died last night at his home, 142 North Homan avenue. He was 89 years old. He had been retired from THE TRIBUNE for a number of year. Mr Murray is survived by his sons, John T., Patrick F., and Francis X., and his daughters, Mrs. Frank Sime, Mrs. Frank M. McCarthy, all of Chicago, and Mrs. Roy Frawley of Detroit. John T. and Patrick F. both are well known lawyers, the latter a former member of the legislature. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9 a. m. from the residence to St. Matthew’s church.
