He was based in French Morocco at the Noasseur US Air Force base. He traveled ahead of his wife Louise and adopted daughter Patricia who later joined him in Morrocco. Mike worked as a Diesal Mechanic and would maintain the the disel generators of the top secret radar bases in the mountains of Turkey. Mike talked of flying into the bases in little plane. During his stay in Morocco he had a beautiful little house that was one of the only ones with a lawn scartched from the sand. Mike got along good with the Arabs and learned to speak Arabic. They returned to the United States about 1959 and made their home in Los Angeles, California., at
Noasseur Air Force, French Morocco, before 1959.

Their homes where always beautifully kept and had many fruit trees such as apples, lemons, and appricots. The Summer always ment a garden to be tended by Grandma. Grandma Louise's relatives from Pine Ridge always had a place to stay or visit. Many of the Pine Ridge families living in L.A. on Relocation where visitors of the Conways. From 1963 through 1967 their Grandson (author) Michael stayed with them quite often and had his own room. While living in L.A. they had given up driving and walked pretty much everywhere they needed. Grandma would grab her umbrella and cart, Grandpa Conway his cap, coin purse and cigarettes, and we where off for groceries every Saturday. Grandpa loved baseball and I have many found memories of heading to the Batting cage to hit balls, going to triple A games, or Dodger Games. Some times Grandpa and I headed out to sneek a .25 pizza, Coke, and a Hersey Bar. Some Saturday's we headed to Verdogo Public pool where Grandpa taught me to swim and dive for quarters. They loved the ocean and we took many trips to Long Beach to see the ships or Santa Monica to swim or walk the boardwalks. They eventually moved to an apartment where Grandpa gave up his yards, but still helped the apartment manager with the grounds. While there Grandma Louise's sister Vi (Grandma) moved to the same apartment., at

He loved to take his binoculars with him on his trips to the ocean and scan the waters for ships. Perhaps his longing to be at the sea of his youth. After Grandma Louise fell and broke her hip they decided it was time to move closer to their adopted daughter Patricia Stevens in Wisconson., at
