Margaret McDaid Sprowls, 91, of West Finley died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Mounts, of Washington RD 5, Tuesday, March 28, 1972, after a lingering illness.
She was born September 17, 1880, in West Finley Township, where she lived all her life. She was a daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Wolfe McDaid.
Mrs. Sprowls was a member of the Windy Gap U.P. Church and had been the church pianist 42 years and was active in church activities.
She was a member of the Women's Missionary Society of the church. She gave piano lessons 40 years and also was correspondent for the Claysville Recorder for 17 years.
She was married October 5, 1899, to Norton Sprowls, who died in 1944.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth, wife of Roy Mounts, of Washington RD5, and Mrs. Mirian Hanks of West Field, N.Y., one grandson, Roy B. Mounts Jr. of Washington RD 5 and three great grandchildren.
One son, Kenneth, one daughter, Noamia Wood, three sisters, and eight brothers are deceased.
Friends will be received at the Ferrell Funeral Home, Claysville, Pa., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM today, Thursday, March 30, 1972, where funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, at 1 PM, in charge of Rev. Donald Parker, pastor of the Windy Gap United Presbyterian Church.

West Finley married--At the Windy Gap Cumberland Presbyterian parsnage, Burnsville, by Rev. R.C. Byers, pastor of the contracting parties, of Thursday evening. October 5th, 1899, Miss Margaret I. McDaid and Mr. Nort Sprowls. They are well known in this neighborhood, and highly esteemed. Mr. Sprowls is a son of Montgomery Sprowls. Mrs. Sprowls is a daughter of Mrs. Mary McDaid and a graduate of the public schools, has been the efficient organist for several years at Windy Gap church and an active worker in the Christian Endeavor and other departments of Church work. It is understood they will make their home for awhile with the bride's mother, who is in ill health. They have the best wishes of the community.
