Hugh DOUGLAS  ( Robert )
Hugh was born on Monday 2nd April 1849 in Adelaide, South Australia.
Hugh was the 5th of  10 children , 6 boys and 4 girls for  Elizabeth ROBERTSON and Robert DOUGLAS.

Elizabeth was aged about 29 years, Robert was a sailmaker aged about 45 years and the family was living in Pirie Street.
Hugh's birth was registered on Wednesday 7th November 1849 by his father. ~s01, s02

Hugh's siblings were  Robert George (b1840),  Isabella Jane (b1842),  Catherine (b1844),
 William Alexander (b1847),  Colin (b1851),  Elizabeth (b1854),  Jane Chalmes (b1856),  John Ingram (b1859) and  Shelto (b1863).

 

Elizabeth Bowen FENTHAN
Elizabeth was born about 1850.
Elizabeth's father was  Harry FENTHAN. ~s05

Hugh DOUGLAS married Elizabeth Bowen FENTHAN
on Tuesday 4th July 1871
in Adelaide, South Australia.

Hugh and Elizabeth were married in the Presbyterian Manse, Flinders Street.
Hugh and Elizabeth were both aged 21 years. ~s02

Hugh and Elizabeth had the following children :

1 M Robert Bowen DOUGLAS  was born on 20th April 1872 in North Adelaide, South Australia. ~s02
Robert died on 18th March 1903 in Springton, South Australia.  Robert was aged 30 years. ~s02
2 M Alfred Hugh DOUGLAS  was born on 25th February 1874 in North Adelaide, South Australia. ~s02
Alfred died on 14th February 1875 in North Adelaide, South Australia.  Alfred was aged 11 months. ~s02
3 M Colin DOUGLAS  was born on 3rd August 1876 in North Adelaide, South Australia. ~s02
Colin died on 27th June 1877 in North Adelaide, South Australia.  Colin was aged 10 months. ~s02

Elizabeth Bowen DOUGLAS  died on 7th April 1878 in Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia.
Elizabeth was aged 27 years.  Her last residence was in North Adelaide. ~s02

Frances MCDONALD
Frances was born about 1852.
Frances father was  John ROBERTSON. ~s05

Hugh DOUGLAS married Frances MCDONALD
on Sunday 4th July 1880
in North Adelaide, South Australia.

Hugh and Frances were married in the Wesleyan Parsonage, North Adelaide.
Hugh was widow and aged 30 years.  Frances was widow and aged 28 years. ~s02

Hugh and Frances had no known children.
