1. Lorenz1 Brunner was born 30 August 1814 in Gansberg, Parish Haunnersdorf, Bavaria, and died 24 July 1893 in Pastetten Bavaria. He married Magdelena Spanner 03 June 1851 in Ergolding, Bavaria. She was born 19 November 1816 in Sommershausen, Parish Oberhausen, Bavaria, and died 24 February 1895 in Pastetten Bavaria.

Lorenz Brunner was a Schmidmeister, or Master Smith (Blacksmith). According to the record from the Kath. St. Martin in Pastetten Bavaria, he was a native of Gänsberg in the parish of Haunnersdorf. He married Magdalena Spanner, who was a Bauerstocher (farmer's daughter) of Sommershausen, parish Oberhausen. They had 6 children born in Pastetten.

According to Katharina's birth record from the Family Book record from Kath. St. Martin in Pastetten Bavaria, pages 222/223, she was born illegitimate in 1834 , and according to the latin entry, "p. matr. subs. legit.", was subsequently legitimatized by the marriage of the parents. Her mother Magdalena Spanner married Lorenz Brunner in 1851 and it is unknown if Lorenz Brunner was Katharina's father, although her birth record appears with the other children of Lorenz Brunner and Magdelena Spanner in the Pastetten records. Josef Wallner and his sister Johanna Wallner immigrated to the US aboard the ship S.S. Friesland from Antwerp Belgium, arriving in New York City NY on 7 October 1891. Josef is listed as age 18, citizen of German, arriving for a "protracted stay". Johanna's age was 19. On the same ship was J. Dollack, whose identity and relationship, if any, to Henry Dollack, Johanna’s future husband, is unknown. The ship's record also indicates that aboard the S. S. Friesland were Fanny Zoeller, age 32, servant, destination NY, with 1 piece of luggage;  Jeanette Zoeller, age 31; and Joseph Zoeller, age 4. (According to the birth records of the Kath. St. Martin, Francesca would have been 34 at the time, not 32.) The ship's record indicates the Zoellers were all to be permanent settlers, and that their native country was "NY".  Francesca (Fanny) and Jeannette were Josef and Johanna's Aunts, the sisters of their mother, Elisabeth Brunner. According to the oral tradition of the family, Francesca and Jeannette had immigrated to America at an earlier date. The "native country" entry of NY on the ship's record may be an error, or it may confirm that they had arrived in America at an earlier date and had become citizens when their husbands were naturalized. It is very possible that Francesca and Jeanette returned to Pastetten so that they could escort Josef and Johanna to their new country.

On the 14 June 1900 Federal Census, Jeanette is listed living at 324 First Street, Brooklyn, Kings Co. NY with her husband Emanuel Zoeller, in the home they owned, with son Emil and daughter "Fanny". According to this census, her year of immigration was 1889. She married Emanuel Zoeller between 1890 and 1891.

Jeanette (Brunner) Zoeller died on 28 October 1931 and was interred in St. Johns Cemetery, on 31 October 1931, located at 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY Section 14, Range Q, Plot 24, No 8, with her husband Emanuel Zoeller.

Emanuel Zoeller was born in Germany, and immigrated in 1884 according to the 1900 Federal Census for 324 South First Street, Brooklyn, Kings Co, New York. He owned the home, with a mortgage, and at that time was living there with his wife Jeanette (Brunner), his son Emil J. and daughter "Fanny" (Francesca). The census notes that his occupation was upholsterer and that he was a naturalized citizen.

Emanuel died at age 86, and was interred in St Johns Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, NY. The funeral arrangements were handled by Leo F. Kearns, 103-33 Lefferts Blvd. Richmond Hill NY.
