Helen Laura Baber is the daughter of Virginia Susan Miller and Charles Alexander Baber. She was born 3 September 1899 in Summers county, West Virginia. She died 22 February 1972 at age 72. She is buried at Goose Creek Burying Ground, Lincoln, Loudoun, Virginia.

On 15 June 1930, at age 30, she married Owen Isaiah Thomas (Jr.), who was age 28. He is the son of Owen Isaiah Thomas (Sr.) and Emma Hanah Pigott. Known as June, was born 18 October 1901 in Virginia. He died 22 August 1989 at age 87 in Round Hill, Loudoun, Virginia. He is buried at Goose Creek Burying Ground, Lincoln, Loudoun, Virginia.
