     Adolph Torneden was born on 10 February 1868.1 He was the son of Johan Bernhard Karl Torneden and Carolina Friederika Emilie Altenbernd.
     Adolph Torneden immigrated on 26 May 1869 to in Lexington, Johnson County, Kansas, USA, with his parents Johan Bernhard Karl Torneden and Carolina Friederika Emilie Torneden On May 26, 1869, Johan and his family left Germany. They arrived in Baltimore on June 14, 1869 on the ship "Baltimore". They settled in Lexington, Johnson County, Kansas. Lexington is east of Eudora.

They left Germany to keep their two older sons, August and Simon (“Sam”), out of the German army. Caroline’s brother, Conrad Altenbernd Sr., arranged for the trip to Eudora from Lippe Detmold, Germany, in 1869. It took two wagon trips from Kansas City to bring all their belongings.2
     Adolph Torneden married Bertha Agnes Unknown.1
     Adolph died on 6 August 1941 at age 73.1 He was buried after 6 August 1941 in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Park Section B and Evergreen Section, located in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, USA.1
