Nancy was born to Benjamin and Elizabeth (nee Wilson) on 2nd December 1799 and was baptised in Methley, Yorkshire [IGI].

Nancy married John Illingworth in 1819 in Methley, Yorkshire. In the 1841 census she was with her husband and children at Ingram Place, Rothwell, Yorkshire. By the 1851 census Nancy was a window still living at Ingram Place with a number of her children

At the time of the 1861 census Nancy was living at 5 Bachelor Buildings, Late Lower Sheffield Street, Leeds with her youngest son William.

In 1871she was living alone back in Methley in one of five Woodside Almshouses and is described as an 'Almshouse Women'
