General Notes: At various times during 1777, 1781, and 1782, served as a Private and Fifer and drummer under Captains Randolph and Freeman, Colonel Freeman, Colonel Ogden's New Jersey Line, Continental Army (Revolutionary War). Was both a sailor and soldier on various war vessels harassing British shipping in New York harbor and NJ coast. In 1781 he was wounded in the head in an engagement at Perth Amboy, in February, 1782 he was wounded in a skirmish at Staten Island.
