A very long time resident of Dalton Gardens, ID, Chester Robert Vig passed
away Monday 21 Mar 2011 at the age of 96 in the Guardian Angel Assisted
Living facilityfollowing a short illness. He was born 15 Feb 1915 in Hazekton, ND to James L. and Adelaid Wright Vig. The family later moved to Opal, SD where he met Clara Lucille Bowlby and they were married 28 Aug 1934. They moved to Dalton Gardens, Idaho where their three children were born. Chester worked building Farragut Naval Base. They spent one summer in SD where chester broke horses.They farmed in St. Maries, ID and worked for a dairy farm milking cows. The then moved to Postfalls and Chester got a job at Alcoa Aluminum which was bought buy Kaiser Aluminum and where he retired in 1978. They moved back to Dalton Gardensin 1946where the family home still is. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Clara of 73 years, three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his children, Walter Vid(Jean) of LaVerkin, Utah, Keith Vig of Dalton and Wanda Litalien/Goodwin of Hayden, many grandchildren and gr-grandchildren. A funeral service honoring Mr. Vig will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, 31 Mar 2011 in Coeur D' Alene at St. Pius Catholic Church, with reception to follow.

David Harvey Vig passed away September 7, 2013 at his home in
Careywood, Idaho at the age of 74. David was born November 11,
1937 in Couer D Alene, Idaho to Harvey and Nona Vig. David was
the third child of five children. As a child, Dave grew up in
Dalton Gardens. On November 29, 1955, he married his childhood
sweetheart, Patricia Newcomb, and raised six children. They built
their first home in Dalton Gardens and moved to Careywood, Idaho
in 1970. He spent many hours farming his eighty acres with his
family. Dave was employed by the United States Forest Service for
over twenty-five years. He was a drill master for the Satellites
women mounted horse drill team. Dave was an avid sportsman who
enjoyed fishing with his wife and hunting with his two sons. Dave
dedicated many years to ham radio and traveling around the
country. David was preceded in death by his parents; sister,
Doris Baillie; and brother, James. He is survived by his wife,
Patricia, and children: Debbie Owens, Cindy (Karen), Larry
(Jurry), Dave, Suzie Hamilton (Evaine), Roxanne Kilmartin(Jesse),
brother, Dale, and sister, Kathy Butterfield. He had eleven
grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A memorial mass will
be held at 1:00 pm September 23, 2013 at St. Pius X Church, 625
E. Haycraft, Coeur dAlene, 83815. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be sent to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way,
