A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 2:00pm at White Chapel Greenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Annex Cemetery. Ms. Culpepper was preceded in death by her husband, Babe Culpepper; and daughter, Edna "Sister" Hollon. She is survived by her son, Buddy Cox (Belinda); two daughters, Patsy Deaton (Harry), Glenda Forbus (Ralph); two sisters; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great and great grandchildren.3

Was called up around 1913 because of his ROTC commission. His ROTC scholarship had helped with his college expenses. He had been commissioned in the Calvary, but was quickly moved to the Medical Corps. His parent's names were George Andrew Culpepper and Lou Ida Grimes Culpepper. George's parents: William and Maria Walls. Ida's parents: William R Grimes and Elizabeth Ready.7

Sentenced to life in prison, Uhland was enumerated in the Alabama State Prison in the 1910 census. In 1918, he was registered for the WW-I draft while an inmate in the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary.

He appears to have relocated to Connecticut upon his release from prison in the early 1920s.4
