Elizabeth is mentioned in a biography of her husband Jonathan Yarbrough, as having been the daughter of John and Mary Culpepper. Other than this one article, this writer has found no other evidence that John Culpepper (son of Joseph and Martha) had a daughter Elizabeth, or that he had a wife Mary. John's wife at the time of his death was Aggy. Further research is needed.

Biography*

Mary may have been John Culpepper's second wife. If available biographical material on Jonathan Yarbrough and his wife Elizabeth Culpepper is accurate, then Elizabeth was the daughter of John Culpepper and wife Mary, and not the daughter of Agnes. This implies that all the children younger than Elizabeth were also Mary's. Since the exact birth dates of all the children are not known, it is not clear to this writer which of John's children, exactly, might be by which wife. Further research is needed.

Curtis James Culpepper of Dekalb, Texas dies in Oklahoma traffic accident
A 19-year-old Texas man died Thursday from injuries he suffered in a McCurtain County traffic accident, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reported. Curtis James Culpepper of Dekalb, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 11:30 a.m. single-vehicle crash about 10 miles south of Idabel. Troopers said Culpepper was driving southbound on U.S. 259 when the vehicle traveled left of center, struck a guardrail and flipped onto its side. It turned again and came to rest on its top in a creek, the patrol's report said. Culpepper had not been wearing a seat belt, troopers said.⁴
